The Spark

It Started with a Seed in Maun.

On May 1, 2015, in the heart of Maun, Botswana, I planted the seed that would become Brandesis. Back then, we were The Brand Shop.

My mission was simple: help local businesses look good on paper. We focused on print, branding, and stationery. We were the “ink guys.” But as I worked alongside entrepreneurs like you, I noticed a recurring struggle. You didn’t just need business cards; you needed a voice. You needed partnerships. You needed to grow in a digital world that was leaving traditional marketing behind.

I realized that ink wasn’t enough.

The Pivot

From Ink to Pixels.

The shift wasn’t easy. It was born out of necessity and curiosity. I saw our clients struggling to connect online, so we decided to experiment. We pivoted from print to digital, testing online advertising and social media strategies.

The results were eye-opening. We weren’t just making things look good anymore; we were helping businesses be better. We evolved from a service provider into a strategic partner.

But as we solved one problem, we uncovered a bigger one. The digital space was noisy. To cut through, you didn’t just need “content“, you needed insight.

The Rebrand

Taking Our Own Medicine.

By 2023, we reached a tipping point. We were crafting deep, meaningful narratives for our clients, but our own brand (The Brand Shop) felt like a relic of our past. It didn’t reflect the sophisticated, behavior-driven work we were doing.

So, we did the hard thing. We paused. We looked in the mirror. We applied our own “Brand Heart” framework to ourselves.

We asked the tough questions: Who are we really? Why do we exist beyond making money? The answer was clear: We exist to elevate brands beyond transactions.

This realization led to our genesis. We combined “Brand” with “Genesis” to create Brandesis, a name that signifies the origin of your new identity and the start of your sustainable growth.
